Olay Regenerist whips – is it worth the cost? or is it all hype?

Have you seen the insta stories and adverts about Olay Regenerist whips? Where it looks amazing and sort of looks like cake frosting in a jar? If you want an honest review about why you should give it a try and why you should give it a miss, then keep reading.

If I’m being honest I don’t really care what people think when they look at me but after living my best life in my twenties, too much parting, too much sunshine, and of course kids and stress really do bring on the wrinkles. I have combination skin. I think like most people I do get a little baffled with all new the serums, primers, and moisturisers that are on market and what ingredients are best. I love my Clinique dramatically different moisturiser and it works for my skin but recently I have noticed my skin looks a little dull so when I had the chance to try Olay Regenerist whips I jumped at it. as surely it can’t be as good as the adverts, can it?

Well, the first thing I noticed was the packaging a reflective red and silver which stands out not a demure shade of pink or white like a lot of other moisturisers on the market.

From the first time you use it you will notice how soft it is, yes it is called Olay whips but I didn’t think it would be so light to the touch and another amazing quality is it dries almost straight away and what has really impressed me is that it does not feel like anything is on my skin. I know it sounds weird but no sticky or tackiness, my skin just feels soft to the touch. I don’t know what magic they use but I even had to show one of my friends, of course, she thought I was going a little crazy asking her to touch my face because it felt soft but honestly if you put some on the back of your hand/ arm you will feel the difference.

Another of its great qualities is that it helps your make up last all day long no need for a primer under your foundation it is formulated with Vitamin B3, Amino-Peptide Complex and Pro-Vitamin B5 which I believe is what help give your skin a plumped youthful look and helps with keeping your skin hydrated.

So straight away for me, there were some bad points, it does have a higher price tag than other drug store moisturisers at around £34 but it is cheaper than some of the other moisturisers I have used in the past. It does have a very light clean fragrance but it does not put me off from using it, the main drawback I have about it, is that it’s in a jar. Lots of moisturisers come in jars but I’m always conscious that bacteria builds up quicker in the jar because you're actually putting your fingers in the product and each time you use you're putting more and more bugs into the jar.
